Physics 22, Spring 2006

Here is a link to the Practice Final. Here is a link to the solutions. There was a small error in Problem 2's solution... the distance from the suspension point to the center of mass is L/sqrt(2), not L/2. That is now corrected in the solutions.

Here is a link to the .pdf of Problem Set #10.

The final will take on Wednesday, June 13, 4-7pm in 1640 Broida.

The lecture meets MWF 1:00-1:50pm in Broida 1640, and problem sessions (both mandatory) meet F11:00-F11:50pm in 1802 Psychology and F2:00-2:50pm in 2129 Girvetz.

Prof. Nelson's office hours will be Friday, 3-5pm in 2129 Girvetz. The TA, Joel Varley, has office hours in the Physics Study Room, which is Broida 1019 on TuTh 9:00-10:00am, and F noon-1:00pm.

The text is Kleppner and Kolenkow, An Introduction to Mechanics. For those who want to refresh calculus, Kleppner and Ramsey, Quick Calculus is recommended.

Problem sets will be assigned Mondays, and due the following Monday in class.

The plans for grading are: Problem sets, 30%; Midterm (currently planned on May 7), 30%; Final, 40%.

Reading assignments are sections from Kleppner and Kolenkow.
