We meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00-9:50am in 1640 Broida. The first class is Monday, Apr. 3. The TA, Colin Shepherd, will teach a section on Fridays from 11:00-11:50am in 3505 Phelps.

This is the fifth quarter of a core course on General Physics. The textbooks will be `Electricity and Magnetism' by E.M. Purcell, `Optics' by Welford, and `Quantum Physics,' by Wichmann; the last two will be distributed in class.

One midterm is planned on Friday, May 5.

Homework is assigned on Fridays, due one week from the following Monday in class.

Homework turned in up to the Friday of the week of the due date will have 50% of the score removed. Homework turned later than the Friday of the week of the due date will be noted, but no points for credit will be given.

You may work with others on working out the problems, but you must write up solutions independently of one another.

The grading formula to be 50% Final, 25% Midterm, and 25% Problems. A minimum grade on the problem sets of 50% of the total points must be achieved to receive a passing grade in the course.

The final will be on Wednesday, June 14, 8:00-11:00am, in the same room as the lectures, 1640 Broida.
