Isla Vista

Description:

Isla Vista is an intermediate level spot that's convieniently close to Santa Barbara. Isla Vista is the student town just west of UCSB. The waves here are usually small but fun. Definitely not as intimidating as Jalama. The only bad thing about this site is that you need to carry your gear down some stairs to get down to the beach (or water depending on the tide). IV is best when the wind blows from the west. Watch out late in the day. The wind can turn offshore and die real fast.

Directions:

Get off Highway 101 at the Storke Rd. exit. Take Storke south. Storke bends left into El Colegio Rd. Take a right at the first light on El Colegio, which will put you on Camino Corto. Take Camino Corto all the way to the end and turn right onto Del Playa Dr. Park at the end of Del Playa where it makes a hard right. You should see some other cars with gear on top if it's windy.
