Hints on how to download from this page

The paper is also available from the Los Alamos preprint archive

Here is the preprint, with all the figures and tables embedded in the text.

Pages 1 to 50, postscript (2.5 Mbytes). Pages 1 to 50, gzipped-postscript (750 kbytes).

Pages 51 to 100, postscript (2.2 Mbytes). Pages 51 to 100, gzipped-postscript (680 kbytes).

Pages 101 to 154, postscript (2.4 Mbytes). Pages 101 to 154, gzipped-postscript (640 kbytes).

Here are the two files submitted to Review of Modern Physics.

A file (postscript, 850 kbytes or gzipped-postscript, 300 kbytes) with all of the text and tables and figure captions but no figures.

A file (postscript, 6 Mbytes or gzipped-postscript, 1.6 Mbytes) with all the figures numbered at the bottom of the pages.

There are also a number of tar or gzipped-tar archives :

Archives containing all of the figures numbered at the bottom of the page in separate postscript files; tar (8.3 Mbytes) or tar.gz (2.6 Mbytes) format.

Archives containing all of the figures in separate postscript files (unnumbered); tar (7.9 Mbytes) or tar.gz (2.4 Mbytes) format.

Archives containing all of the Latex 2.09 files needed to build the version of the paper (no figures) sent to Review of Modern Physics; tar (630 kbytes) or tar.gz (160 kbytes) format. Make sure to read the README files in these archives.

Archives containing all of the Latex 2.09 and postscript files needed to build the preprint (figures and tables embedded in the text). tar (6.5 Mbytes) or tar.gz (1.7 Mbytes) format. Make sure to read the README files in these archives.

It is likely that by just clicking on the links to gzippped files you will get garbage. I will fix this when I get a chance. But not all is lost. There is a way to download the gzipped files. In Netscape, point to the gzipped links, hold down the right mouse button, and select "Save Link As...". There should be equivalent patches for other browsers as well. If you have a choice of formats, choose "Source". Whatever you do, do not choose "Text" and do not choose "Postscript". Well, this seems to work......Then :

To unzip the gzipped postscript files do

gunzip file.ps.gz

To unpack the tar files do

tar -vxf file.tar

To unpack the tar.gz files do

gunzip < file.tar.gz | tar xvf -
