Physics 225, Outlines, Assignments
- Fifth Week (11/1/99-11/5/99)
- Monday's lecture will be on statistics.
- There will be no Wednesday lecture.
- There will be a Friday lecture!!!
- Fourth Week (10/25/99-10/29/99)
- On Monday we discussed neutrino oscillation experiments
that have positive results; then we started a little hadron
physics, to understand how (at least muon) neutrino beams
are made.
- Wednesday's lecture was on hadrons, kinematics, and perhaps
a little statistics.
- Problems. Due on Friday, 11/5 in class,
or to Sean Fraser.
- Third Week (10/18/99-10/22/99)
- We'll finish up the heuristic discussion of neutrino/quark
oscillations, and then do some massive-field phenomenology.
Then, a minimum of hadron physics. Next week: we really
start reviewing actual (historic) experiments.
- Remember... next Monday, submit a 1 paragraph proposal for
your 20-minute talk.
- Second Week (10/11/99-10/15/99)
- First Week (10/4/99-10/8/99)
- Topics are overviews of the structure of matter, and the Standard Model.
- Problems. Due on Monday, 10/11 in class,
or to Sean Fraser.
- Lecture #1 (10/4/99)
- Lecture #2 (10/6/99)
